BIO
Stewart Race Teague was born on 18th November 1923 and attended the East Adelaide school. His team mates in the school's first eighteen in 1935 included future fellow Norwood premiership players Graham Farrow, Ron Williams, Eric Matthews and Merv Roberts.
Teague enlisted in the army on his nineteenth birthday in 1942 and was discharged on 23rd May 1946.
He made his league debut in May 1947 against North Adelaide, the team for which his father had played. His father had represented N.S.W in the Australian carnival thirty six years previously and had later moved to South Australia.
Teague played at full back and was a member of both the 1947 team which were runners-up, and the 1948 premiership side. He was recognized in the club awards in 1948 for “services rendered”.
Subsequently his employment with a bank made it difficult to train and unfortunately he played no more league games.
He married Rosslyn Smart in 1953 and moved to Jamestown. Stewart Teague died in 1987.
