BIO

Matthew Thomas joined Norwood in 2003 after stints with North Adelaide and Sturt. He had previously won the Mail Medal playing for Uraidla (Hills, Division 1) in 1999.

A key-position player, capable of playing at either end of the ground, Thomas made his League debut in the opening round of the 2003 season when the Redlegs defeated Port Adelaide 20.14 to 9.14, at the Parade.

Noted for his strong overhead marking (and for wearing a long-sleeved jumper) he played 11 senior games in his first season. Thomas then made five appearances in 2004, and one in his last year.

After leaving Norwood he returned to Uraidla and later played for South Clare (North Eastern Football League), and Blackwood (Hills Football League).
