Peter Vertudaches joined Norwood from the Norwood Union Football Club, in the East Torrens Football Association. Starting in Norwood's Reserves in 1962, he was named the team's Best Junior at season's end.
He then had a very consistent year in 1963, subsequently winning Norwood Reserves' Best and Fairest award.
The skilful wingman made his League debut in 1964 and had a very impressive first up season. Small in stature, and courageous, he was popular with spectators and team-mates alike.A good mark and accurate kick, Vertudaches was named in the 1964 Advertiser Team of the Year, and adjudged Norwood's
Best First Year player.
Vertudaches was again in fine form in 1966, on this occasion being named the team's Most Consistent performer.
He later transferred to West Adelaide, playing two League games in 1970.
Peter Vertudaches was born on 29 October 1941 and passed away in Adelaide on 4 May 2023
