BIO
Matthew Vidic was selected in the State primary school team in 1994 and also played his early football at the Greenacres Football Club and St Peter's College.
In 1998 Vidic played 10 games for the Norwood under 17 team and the following season he progressed through the grades and played a few games in the reserves.
The tenacious rover made his league debut mid 2001, making 13 appearances in his first year of senior football and was named "competitor of the year"
He then spent most of 2002 in the reserves (14 games), picking up a meritorious performance award.
In 2003 he played another 11 league games for Norwood , and then continued in the reserves up to 2006.
The promising Vidic had been given Garry McIntosh's guernsey number 14 early in his career but unfortunately a chronic lower back complaint hampered most of his time at The Parade.
He later played for the Uraidla Districts Football Club.
