BIO

Gordon Wait joined Norwood aged 22 by way of  Norwood Union and Gaza where he was vice-captain.

He played 15 of his 25 games for Norwood in 1929, the year in which it beat Port Adelaide in the Grand Final.

His preferred position was centre half–forward and he kicked two goals and was named in the best players in Norwood’s semi-final loss to West Adelaide and one goal in the Grand Final.

Norwood recognized his contribution in the 1929 season by naming him “most unselfish” player in the awards for the season.

His last games in 1934 were at full back where he had won the Association (Reserves) Magarey Medal in 1933.
