U/23 State Team - 2023
Lishmund’s interest in football began whilst watching her brother play and thinking “I can do that”. In 2016, she played four games for Norwood’s u/14 girls team and from 2016-2019, she played a total of 48 games for the Hope Valley Football Club.
In 2019, whilst still in year 10 at Kildare College, Lishmund received an invitation to the Port Adelaide FC Next Generation Academy Elite Talent Program after being identified by Norwood. She was later selected to play in the State Football Team to play Victoria Country in Mt Gambier.
In 2020, she joined Norwood’s senior program and played 8 games for the season, kicking four goals.
In 2021, Lishmund was selected for the state u/19 team as a wing/half forward. A willing listener with exceptional skills, she played three games in the 2021 NAB AFLW U19 Championships. Off the field, she switched from Kildare to SEDA College to do her final year, where she was able to work one day a week at the Adelaide Football Club as part of her studies.
The following season, 2022, was Lishmund’s ‘breakout year” when she was moved further forward as a key target inside 50 and kicked 18 goals in 11 games, including four goals against Glenelg in round 8. She became renowned as a strong mark overhead and for her long and accurate kicking. Lishmund almost became a cult figure too, with her unique goal celebrations.
Lishmund finished 2022 as the SANFLW AAMI Leading Goalkicker, and was therefore also Norwood’s leading goalkicker for the season. She received a $500 prize from AAMI as a reward from the SANFLW and was also selected in the SANFLW Advertiser Team of the Year.
In 2023, Lishmund played six games and kicked four goals but was sidelined by a serious foot injury. Nicknamed ‘Freddie’, she returned again in 2024, but couldn’t break back into the league team owing to the good form of forwards Adrienne Davies and Amelia Rusden. At the end of the 2024 season, Lishmund decided to transfer to West Adelaide for season 2025.
