Zerella played her first league game for the Norwood Football Club in 2019 after travelling with the club on a cultural tour to Croatia in 2018. Originally from the Mt Lofty Devils, Rosette has played at the Devils with other Norwood women including her sister Jiarna, Tess Maple and Aajiah Jericho.
A long and accurate kick, in 2021 she was the club’s leading goalkicker with 13 goals from ten games.
In 2024, Zerella moved from Norwood to play SANFLW with Woodville-West Torrens.
Off the field, Zerella graduated from Flinders University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Health Sciences. Her career now focuses on inclusion in mainstream classrooms for students undertaking health and physical education subjects. Zerella provided one-on-one support for a boy with vision impairment at St Ignatius College and took up studying a Masters of Special Education. In 2022, with two colleagues, Zerella’s work with the vision impaired through Blind Cricket saw the South Australian School and Services for Vision Impaired be nominated as a finalist for the South Australian Cricket Association’s Community Cricket Awards.
